On the Abbasanta plateau, not far from the city of Oristano, stands one of the expressions, as well as better preserved, representative of the Nuragic architecture. The “Nuraghe Losa” is distinguished by organic design, compactness of the volumes and refinement of the masonry techniques.
The remains of a three-and-a-half-hectare settlement are preserved around it, immersed in the green of the Mediterranean scrub, which bears witness to the long history of the site from the Nuraghic to the Roman and Medieval periods. Outside the settlement there were funerary and religious monuments. About 120 meters southwest of the wall you can see the remains of the "Tomba dei giganti” (Tomb of the giant), built with blocks perfectly worked but largely dismantled during the millennia.
There are many ways to visit the Nuraghe Losa:
Accompanied by guides;
Follow the didactic panels along the way stopping at the small museum where exhibits from the Nuragic period of the territory are exhibited, alone or in the company of their four-legged friends;
You can also choose to experience nuragic life with educational workshops for children and adults, or choose one of the events that have been repeated for years and deepen particular aspects.
The Nuraghe is open all year from 9 am until one hour before sunset.
